An older gent rolls up to Absolut Bagels on 107th and Broadway, stroller in tow. From the street, he opens the front door, and asks me as I’m leaving if I can find out if the bagel shoppe will be closed tomorrow.

JROSENTHAL: Hey, they said that they’ll be open.

STRANGERMAN: Of course they will. What am I thinking? It’s the Upper West Side.

JROSENTHAL: Yea, even the non-Jews are Jews.
