This season’s finale hammered home the point that Pete wants so badly to be Don. I’ve read a bunch of write-ups about it (Alan Sepinwall, Matt Zoller Seitz; the ones that everyone reads if you read those kind of things), and yet no one has mentioned my favorite bit of Mad Men minutiae:

Don called his wife ‘Birdie’; Pete calls his ‘Tweety’.
